southern california fools chapter welcome:: welcome to the so cal fools website! we are an organization whose sole purpose is to promote the brotherhood of the fire service. the term " fools " stands for the f raternal o rder o f l eatherheads s ociety . a leatherhead is a firefighter who recognizes the true meaning of their profession. a meaning that has been carved in blood by too many brave brothers and sisters before them. fools international has approved the southern california chapter of the fraternal order of leatherheads society (so cal fools). the chapter is seeking membership to raise a loud voice of the brotherhood. it is up to us firefighters to make the fire service the best it can possibly be. with the support of local firefighters we can spread the fire of the fools that burns in our hearts into the hearts of other firefighters. fools members willingly take on the commitment to: preserve the rich traditions and heritage of our chosen profession better ourselves constantly with continual training remember those brother and sister firefighters that have gone before us be true to the fire service the desire to uphold these convictions is what drives the fools and brings brother and sister firefighters together as one. this great organization asks that you commit to uphold these very important beliefs and that you pass them on to your department. let us not forget the firefighters that developed america's fire service, as we know it today. keep in your mind and heart the lost brothers and sisters that have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. may their ghost never return to ask us, "what have you done to my fire service?" we owe it to all of the firefighters that have gone before us, but we owe it to ourselves, our fellow firefighters, as well as our families, to be the best firefighters we can be. remember that the leather helmet is an international sign of a firefighter. the leather is a sign of who we are, not what we are. one does not need a leather helmet to join! we do not represent any one fire department and we are not a political organization. we are here to train, meet the needs of our communities, and first and foremost, help our brothers in their time of need. we also agree to the statement that no firefighter should ever say that their training let them down. the so cal fools represent the brotherhood of firefighters in southern california. we are a group of dedicated firefighters who desire to bring back into the fire service that which has been lost - tradition, honor, pride and brotherhood. we at the so cal fools support our brothers across the world 100%. we are grateful to the founding fools for giving us this organization and opportunity to share with our brothers the great pride and joy that it is to be a fireman! no matter how bad things get, no matter how much the mutts try to get in your way, this is still the greatest job on earth! the so cal fools would like to thank the following chapters for their assistance in getting our site/chapter off the ground!! fools international, capital area fools, charlotte metro fools, georgia fools, mountain fools, ocean city fools, steel city fools, and the udder fools. all of these chapters allowed us to "borrow" something (either written or inspirational) and they are to be commended for there show of the "brotherhood!!" to join, send an email with a letter of interest to info@socalfools or socalfools@hotmail.com. news:: socal fools patches!! wednesda december 19, 2007 - we have our new patch in stock! patches are available for $5 shipping included!! email us for more info at socalfools@hotmail.com search for news stories: search by : month | year | keyword | category please select category please select category news please enter keyword please select year please select year 2007 please select month please select month dec 2007 home gallery membership fools history leather helmet thoughts store links © 2004 - 2008 southern california fools chapter | firecompanies.com contact the webmaster | check mail | member login content on this web site is supplied by the fire department. firecompanies.com cannot be held responsible for any content, either text, pictures, or any other form of media found on this web site.
