(read more) training sessions november 24, 2008 over the last two weekends monroeville fire companies have been taking part in live fire training at the site of the old palace inn hotel. this training session is one of a kind and is probably a once in a lifetime experience for many involved. the building which is now vacant will be torn down next year to make way for a new hospital. (read more) bon fire november 21, 2008 this evening companies 4 and 5 assisted the gateway school district with a bon fire. thanks to everyone that helped out, fun was had by all. (read more) commercial fire november 09, 2008 companies 4,5,1 and command 32 alerted for a reported structure fire at a local clothing cleaners establishment. engine 42 arrived first and reported smoke from the front of the building with an evacuation. crews pulled a pre-connect and entered the building. (read more) structure fire october 26, 2008 early this morning companies 4,5,1 and command 32 were alerted for a fully involved house fire in the 2300 block of pitcairn road. (read more) audio uploaded 11.01.08 structure fire october 19, 2008 around 1900 hours this evening companies 5,4,6 and command 32 were alerted to the area of willowhedge drive for a working structure fire. c-51 arrived reporting heavy fire on side 3 of the structure (where callers noticed the fire from an adjacent neighborhood road). crews from e-51 arrived and pulled a line while truck 5 crews performed a quick search of the home and set up ladders to the rear of the structure. (read more) smoke in building october 10, 2008 companies 4,5,1 and command 32 were alerted to the deauville apartments for a report of an automatic fire alarm and smoke in the building. engine 42 arrived first and established a water supply. upon crew entry to the building smoke was confirmed coming from a first floor apartment.
