(see news article below for a list of ways to prevent fires in the home and ways to be more fire safe.) "pride & ownership - the love for the job." on saturday, october 11 from 8am to 5pm, the meridian fd will host fire chief rick lasky at the meridian middle school. chief lasky will discuss our mission, our "two" families, promotions, 9-11 and the fire service, marketing your department, ceremonies and tradition. cost is $25 (does not include lunch). for more info call the mfd at 888-1234. fflp grant awards issued. the grant award checks have been mailed to all 2008 grant award recipients. this year $113,365 in grant funds were requested but only a total of $57,408 in funds were awarded. due to the large number of grant requests, and larger amounts requested, few grants were able to be fully funded. to see the results of the 2008 fire fighter license plate (fflp) grant awards go to the following link: /assets/dept_1/pm/pdf/2008 grant awards list.pdf . residential fire sprinkler amendment passed at icc code hearings on irc!
