information. 10/14/2008 hit counter welcome to the hebron fire protection district's official website!   news fire prevention week 2008    october 5-11, 2008 is fire prevention week.  this year's theme is "prevent home fires".  home fires are the most common types of fires in the united states.  most of these fires are preventable and are usually caused by cooking, heating, electrical, and and chief bill martin are seen receiving a check in the amount of $2000 from steve petitgout, group manager, field engineering for fm global.  the grant will be used to purchase wireless and paperless inspection software for the department's inspection program. hfpd receives new ambulance  hfpd just received delivery of its newest ambulance.  this ambulance is on a 2008 chevy c4500 chassis and is made by braun.  it is very similar to the ambulance purchased two years ago.  the new ambulance will be replacing the 2003 ambulance.  the ambulance is the most used piece of apparatus at hfpd making structure fire    members of a shift responded to sequoia drive for a reported structure fire.  upon arrival e-352 found a fire in an attached garage and quickly extinguished the fire.  the fire did not extend to the house but did damage the garage.  e-352, e-351, l-360, r-374, s-364, c-377 and point pleasant l-1360 all responded to this incident. friday, october 3, 2008 pipeline incident    members of c shift responded to camp ernst road to assist burlington fire district with a pipeline incident.  a contractor had struck a crude oil pipeline spilling 6100 barrels of oil.  nearby neighborhoods were evacuated as a precaution and the spill was quickly contained by the contractor.  e-351, hazmat 373, c-375, c-377, florence and union all assisted burlington with this incident. thursday, october 2, 2008 auto accident w/ extrication    members of b shift responded to the area of petersburg and progress for a reported accident with extrication.  upon arrival units found one person trapped in a vehicle.  the person was extricated and transported to university of cincinnati hospital by aircare.  e-351, e-352, r-374 and s-364 all responded to this incident. saturday, september 20, 2008 barn fire    members of b shift responded to the 3000 block of idlewild road to assist burlington with a reported barn fire.  e-352 arrived on-scene first due to burlington being on another call.  the fire was quickly extinguished and overhauled.  there was extensive damage to the barn.  e-352 responded to assist burlington on this run. monday, september 15, 2008 structure fire    members of c shift responded to pioneer blvd for a reported structure fire.  upon arrival units found fire showing from the rear of the house.  the fire was found to be in an upstairs bedroom and was quickly extinguished.  there was significant damage to the second floor.  e-351, e-352, l-360, u-367, c-375, c-376, c-377 and burlington e-701 all responded to this incident. sunday, september 14, 2008 wind storm    members of b shift and several off-duty members responded to multiple calls resulting from a wind storm.  the calls ranged from wires down to accidents to fires.  winds reached 74 mph in the area and damaged roofs, trees, siding and caused the collapse of one building under construction.  the winds even caused a tractor trailer to overturn on the i-275 bridge to indiana. saturday, september 13, 2008 structure fire    members of a shift responded to damascus drive for a reported structure fire.  upon arrival units found smoke showing from the front of the house and everyone was out of the house.  the fire was found to be in an upstairs bedroom and was quickly extinguished.  ventilation and overhaul were performed, but there was significant damage to the second floor.  one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.  e-352, e-351, l-360, r-374, s-364, c-377, u-367, u-368, burlington e-701 and pt. pleasant s-1364 all responded to this incident. friday, august 29, 2008 pole fire    members of a shift responded to graves road near the intersection of worldwide blvd. for a reported electric pole on fire.  upon arrival units found the pole to be
